City of Melfort Recognized for Excellence at Recent SEDA Conference
The City of Melfort congratulates the Community Development Manager, Mr. Perry Trusty, for being recognized for his efforts by the Saskatchewan Economic Development Association (SEDA) annual conference held recently in Saskatoon. Mr. Trusty was recognized as the 2009 Community Economic Developer of the Year. In addition, his residential initiatives lead to the City of Melfort receiving the 2009 Community Development Award for incentives developed to attract residential growth in the community. Mr. Trusty continues to work on the new Stonegate commercial development and the assessment of residential opportunities in the community. Number of Residential Permits Issued in 2007 is three times higher than 14-year annual average.

According to a summary of new residential building permits issued since 1995, the Community Services Department reports that a total of 27 residential permits were issued in 2007, over three times higher than the annual average of 8.7* since 1995.
